In memory of my dog

I dreamed of my dog last night.

He was still living,

breathing. Happy for my touch.

My dog’s tail wags on my sheets.

A brown colored whip.

He’s overjoyed to see me.

In my dream, I see my dog,

pink gums and soft ears.

His heart still beating.
