Poetry and Fiction

Ruminating Maternal

I am practicing peacefulness.

I am removing the faces from my rotating cabinet of illusions.

I am accepting that I don’t have to approve in order for something to be true.

I am reimagining my mornings and afternoons and evenings.

I am observing the sticky little hands all over the sliding glass door.

I am appreciating string cheese.

I am surrendering.
